Public services, elected officials & other providers

There are a number of different bodies that are responsible for public services in the area. Chesham Town Council is the most local of the three tiers of local government that represent Chesham and the only one with an office in the town. The other two tiers are Chiltern District Council (based in Amersham) and Buckinghamshire County Council (based in Aylesbury). The three councils are responsible for different services. To find out which council is responsible, Chesham Town Council have a helpful page on their website which you can find here. NHS 111 Service is the NHS non-emergency number and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones. In Chesham, The Chess Medical Centre on Berkhampstead Road is the home to both Gladstone Surgery and The New Surgery Alternatively Water Meadow Surgery is located on Red Lion Street.
